Reaching New Heights in Competitive Skating

The Provincial Level program at the Brant Figure Skating Club is designed for dedicated skaters at the Star 5 to Gold levels who are committed to honing their skills and competing at the highest levels. This program offers a comprehensive approach to training, combining on-ice and off-ice sessions to ensure skaters are fully prepared for club, regional, and Skate Ontario provincial events. With a focus on skill development, personalized programs, and regular testing, the Provincial Level program is the gateway to achieving skating excellence.

Program Features

  • Level: Designed for skaters progressing through Star 5 to Gold levels.

  • Skating Frequency: Skaters must train 3-5 days per week.

  • Competitions: Participation in club, regional, and Skate Ontario provincial events.

  • Development Focus: Emphasis on skill development, program execution, and regular testing to track progress.

  • Off-Ice Classes: A minimum of 2 off-ice classes per week are required.

  • Private Lessons: $60-$100 per week for private lessons, which are required for these sessions. The Provincial Coordinator schedules lessons for these sessions.

Fee Structure

  • Group Instruction Fees:

    • Fees are structured to cover 20 minutes of group instruction during non-prime ice time.

  • Coaching Compensation:

    • Coaches are compensated by the club for group instruction.

  • Off-Ice Classes:

    • Two off-ice classes per week are included in the program fees.

  • Private Lessons:

    • Private or semi-private lessons are organized by the Provincial Coordinator.

    • Private lessons are required for these sessions to ensure personalized development.

  • Testing and Competitions:

    • Tests will be scheduled at regular intervals but are subject to judge availability.

    • Coaches, skaters, and parents will discuss timelines and set goals for tests and competitions.

    • Test fees are paid separately through the website, and coaches will notify parents when a fee is due.

  • Additional Costs:

    • Flashing Blades program is included.

    • Club competition fees are additional and will be communicated separately.

    • Approved competition dresses will be required.

    • A club competition jacket is required for competition.

    • Appropriate skates and attire are required.
